Cowshed at Shoreditch House: Review - Spa and Salon Reviews - Glamour.com

*Team GLAMOUR.COM put the Cowshed Spa at Shoreditch House to the test.*Tested by Hannah Lyons Powell, Editorial Assistant The Spa With both pamper stations and relaxation rooms, the East End outlet offers a whole host of Cowshed's well-loved treatments on the ground floor of the eponymous Shoreditch House. The treatment A Cowshed facial and back massage.

What it involves On arrival I was greeted by a friendly and relaxed team who talked me through the plethora of treatments available. After opting for a facial I was led through the gorgeously furnished spa (think rural retreat in funky Shoreditch) to one of the treatment rooms where I was met by my facialist, Glenda. After talking me through the products, I prepared myself for the facial of a lifetime, which involved a thorough combination of cleansing, toning, moisturising and massaging my pollution-battered visage. The room was a soothing mix of candles, Sting and the relaxing smells of the inimitable Cowshed products. After a 45-minute treatment, my skin felt velvety-soft, while I looked like I'd been on holiday. Result! My next treatment was to lead me back upstairs to one of the pamper stations. Cushioned in an oversized arm chair I was treated to a head, shoulder and arm massage. My accomplished masseuse eased the knots out of my contorted shoulders within minutes, while the head massage was as invigorating as it was relaxing. The verdict I whole-heartedly echoed the sentiments of the lady sat by me, who commented, "I think this might be heaven." Indeed, it's not just the treatments that this Cowshed have down pat. As well as a impeccably-furnished salon and wildly professional staff, after my massage I was offered a drink and some headphones where I could take the time to relax over an episode of Sex and The City. If this isn't the ultimate in girly pampering, I simply don't know what is. What is more, the serenity of the salon never once betrays the fact that it is a part of a busy hotel or located in the heart of bustling Shoreditch.
