Married at First Sight never fails to deliver the drama. But the jaw-dropping moments on the U.S. version of the show are nothing compared to what happens down under. Married at First Sight: Australia has more than double the number of couples – and double the excitement, thanks in part to a slightly different format. 

How ‘Married at First Sight: Australia’ is different from the U.S. version

On MAFS: Australia, couples have to decide to stay together or split during commitment ceremonies throughout the season. Plus, regular dinner parties often lead to messiness among the cast, including frequent cheating scandals and couple swapping. The cast’s makeup is different too, with divorcées, people with kids, and same-sex couples all appearing on the show. 

Currently, Married at First Sight: Australia Season 9 is airing on Lifetime in the U.S. But these episodes have already aired in Australia, which means that we know who stays together, who splits up, and everything that happens in between. Which ‘Married at First Sight: Australia’ Season 9 couples were still together at the final reunion? 

MAFS: Australia’s final reunion episode aired on April 4. Season 9’s remaining couples sat down one last time to rehash the highlights (and lowlights) of their time on the show and share an update on where things stood with their relationships. 

A handful had happy news to share. Olivia and Jackson affirmed their love during the final vow ceremony. At the final reunion, Jackson revealed that they’d moved in together. 

Mitch and Ella’s final vows didn’t go well, with Mitch refusing to commit to Ella. But he had second thoughts, and in the final reunion episode, they revealed they were still together. However, the relationship didn’t last. Ella told New Idea that they split not long after filming the episode. 

These ‘MAFS: Australia’ couples didn’t make it 

The other couples at Married at First Sight: Australia’s final reunion had less happy news to share. 

Selina and Cody committed to each other during the final vows. But they broke up after the reunion dinner, a split Cody initiated and which left Selina broken-hearted. 

Tamara and Brent’s unhappy relationship ended at the final vow ceremony, where they made it clear they couldn’t stand each other. Unsurprisingly, they didn’t patch things up before the final reunion.

Carolina and Dion were also unable to make it work, largely thanks to her affair with another season 9 groom, Daniel. (He’d been matched with Jessica, but she exited the experiment earlier in the season.) The experts might not have matched Carolina and Daniel, but they were still together in the final reunion episode, where they made it clear that they had no regrets about their relationship. 

Jack and Domenica declared their love for each other at the final vow ceremony. Unfortunately, they ended up going their separate ways. However, at the final reunion, Domenica hinted that they could have a future together. 

The ‘Married at First Sight: Australia’ couples who broke up earlier in the season

In addition to Daniel and Jessica, several other couples ended things before reaching the final stage of the experiment. 

Selin and Anthony seemingly had a strong start to their relationship. But things quickly went sour, and they split after agreeing their was no spark between them. 

Holly married Texas native Andrew on Married at First Sight: Australia. But they never really clicked. He bragged about his number of sexual partners and told Holly that he wasn’t satisfied after they were intimate. The marriage lasted just two weeks, with Andrew not even bothering to show up for the commitment ceremony. 

The experts thought Samantha and Al were a perfect match. But they disagreed. Though the two made an effort to make things work, they broke up at the final commitment ceremony.  

Finally, there was Kate and Matt. Despite their best efforts, the two couldn’t forge a connection. They called it quits before getting to the final vows. But unlike some couples, there were no hard feelings. Each wished each other the best on social media after exiting the experiment, 9 Now reported.
