Amidst WWE Return Rumors, CM Punk Teases Fans With a Possible AEW Comeback
Pro wrestling is fun because it changes its direction every now and then without notice. While the phenomenal makes it dynamic, and unpredictable, it feeds the inquisitive minds of the fans to its fullest. They predict, they analyze and certainly, WWE turns the card upside down. It seems like another shell-shocking theory is on the verge of gaining pace regarding CM Punk’s potential return.
AEW let go of The Best of The World following his infamous All-In scuffle with Jack Perry. Ever since then, the rumors of his potential WWE comeback have been running rampant. But wait, did Punk just make a major AEW reference to indicate rejoining the Khan’s troop?
CM Punk dropped a bombshell hint on his AEW comeback
AEW is currently cooking an angle with a masked devil character, with many fans weighing up to understand who could be the wrestler behind it. Bully Rey predicted it’s Punk out there behind the sevens. The Chicago-based wrestler obviously heard this notion and chose to add volume to it, posting a cryptic hint on Instagram.
The Second City Savior posted a story with a masked man of WCW, Ric Flair’s iconic Black Scorpion gimmick with a caption, ‘Who was behind the mask? ‘Now, it’s possible for Punk to be that highly talked about masked man. And if it’s not, his interference in the AEW affairs smells fishy, to say the least. However, the chances of it actually turning out to be true do not bode well. What bodes well is the rumors of his return to WWE which has picked up traction since his departure from AEW.
However, recently, WWE dodged the idea of Punk making his way back to the company at Survivor Series this month.
CM Punk’s rumored return is not on WWE’s agenda at the moment
WWE fully played on the wild rumors of fans of the former WWE Champion rejoining his old home. They kept on sending numerous cues through Seth Rollins, Michael Cole, and Shinsuke Nakamura in the last few weeks. Also, during an Ice Hockey game featuring the Chicago Wolves, which was titled “WWE Night,” Punk’s theme song “Cult of Personality” echoed loudly around the stadium.
It only added fire to the rumors of the prospect of his potential Survivor Series return, which will be emanating from his hometown, Chicago. That said, all of this build-up has been put to rest by WWE when they declined any chance of bringing back the ex-WWE talent at this point in time. Also, the Survivor Series Wargames contestants have already established their roles leaving no space for Punk to jump on it.
